Naugatuck police evacuated a local grocery store on Monday night after receiving a call that there was a bomb on site.

Police say that they received a 911 call from an unknown person stating that there was a bomb in the Big Y, 85 Bridge St.

The store and other businesses located in the shopping plaza were evacuated so police could search.

Police cleared the scene around 9 p.m. after not finding anything. The store and shopping plaza have been reopened.
