Two Ansonia schools were evacuated on Thursday over bomb threats.

The first one came in at 12:10 p.m. to the Mead School, at 75 Ford St. A male said there was a bomb at the school and it was going to blow up soon, police said.

Police and fire personnel secured the area and students were evacuated and moved to a safe area.

    Nothing suspicious was found.

Then, at 1:15 p.m., a male called the Prendergast School, at 59 Finney St., and said there was a bomb inside the school, which was going to explode soon.

These students were evacuated and the school was checked. Nothing suspicious was found.

The Prendergast students were dismissed and sent home.
