Branford police are warning residents to lock their doors and windows after several residential burglaries and attempted burglaries in the Windmill Road area.

Police said all of the burglaries have happened when the homes were unoccupied and the burglars entered through unlocked doors or windows.

Most of the items taken have been home electronics, laptop computers and jewelry.

Police said the only information they have about a possible intruder is a thin man wearing a dark tank top who was seen on Wednesday around noon on Meadow Circle Road.

Police also ask residents to lock automobiles when unattended and keep expensive electronic devices and auto accessories out of plain view.

Report all suspicious activity immediately to the police at 203-481-4241. In an emergency, call 911.
