A 30-year-old East Lyme man has been pronounced dead after a crash on Route 9 in Berlin on Friday morning.
Police have identified the man as Brian Chrimes, of East Lyme.
State police said his Dodge Dakota was in the right lane on Route 9, swerved into the left lane and hit the left guardrail just south of exit 24.
He was unresponsive at the scene, police said.
Emergency workers performed CPR on him and an ambulance brought him to New Britain Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It is not clear what caused the crash.
State police are investigating and ask anyone with information about the crash to call 560-534-1000.
