A driver died Friday evening after suffering a heart attack and crashing into a house at the corner of Tolland and School streets in East Hartford, according to police.
Police said the car struck another vehicle, which sustained minor damage, then hit a front porch at 524 Tolland Street around 6:20 p.m. The house also suffered minor damage.
According to police, the driver died of the heart attack, not the crash.
The westbound side of Tolland Street was closed near the intersection of Hanmer Street while emergency crews responded to the scene.
