Car Dog Was Left in Reached 132 Degrees in Norwalk: Police

A dog was found in a car in Norwalk over the weekend and police said the temperatures inside the vehicle reached up to 132 degrees.

A Norwalk woman was charged with animal cruelty on Saturday after leaving her miniature Schnauzer in the car on Bedford Street.

Police were notified just after noon that the dog had been in the care for more than 20 minutes. Norwalk Animal Control officers and firefighters were able to gain entry and retrieve the pet, police said.

The dog was brought to the Norwalk Animal Hospital and treated for heat stroke.

The dog's owner, Magda Zepeda, reportedly told police that she left her pet in the car by accident.

Zepeda was released on a promise to appear.
