Case Continued for Fire-Alarm Pulling Suspect

Jamal Todd, who is accused of pulling a fire alarm shortly before the stabbing death of a University of Connecticut football player, will be back in court next month.

He entered no plea on Tuesday.

Todd, 21, of Hartford had been scheduled to enter pleas to charges of falsely reporting an incident and reckless endangerment Tuesday in Rockville Superior Court. But no action was taken and a judge continued the case to Jan. 13.

He is one of eight people who were arrested after Jasper Howard was stabbed during a fight outside a school dance on Oct. 18. Police say people at the dance were forced to go outside after Todd pulled the alarm.

Todd's lawyer has said his client was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The man charged with Howard's murder, John Lomax III, 21, is due in court next week.
