Oops! A cop says he entered the wrong credit card number when he charged a dating site subscription on his wife's card.

A Cheshire police officer said he just made a mistake when he charged $119 on his ex-wife's credit card to subscribe to the dating Web site eHarmony.

Robert Anderson, 38, had been charged with illegal use of a credit card and was supposed to be arraigned Wednesday, but a prosecutor dismissed the case, officials at Waterbury Superior Court said.

The dating charge dispute began when Anderson's ex found the charge on her credit card account in April and told Middlebury police.

Anderson, who now lives in Southbury, told cops he might have used the wrong credit card number by mistake. Prosecutors declined to comment.
