The Cheshire Fire Department doesn't need volunteers but it wants young people in the community to think about becoming volunteer firefighters.

So, the department has put up this billboard to attract volunteers aged 16 and up and plant the idea of volunteering with kids who aren't quite old enough yet.

Capt. Bill Herzman says, "We get five or six people a year but as time goes on, we're getting more and more calls for service and we're just making sure we can provide the service to the citizens of Cheshire. "

For more information on how to become a volunteer firefighter in Cheshire, you can call the station at 203-272-1828 or email them at recruiting@cheshirefd.org.
