Children Found Inside New London Drug Factory: Police

New London police found six children inside a home operating as a drug factory Wednesday morning.

Officers served a search and seizure warrant at an apartment at 59 Coit Street after developing information that drugs were being stored and sold from the home.

Inside, police found more than a pound of synthetic marijuana, actual marijuana, crack cocaine, liquid codeine, packaging materials, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Police said there were six children inside the home, as well as several adults.

Daniel Defreese, 24, Cain Defreese, 21, Jose Caban, 37, and Elijah Walker, 24 are facing several charges, including operating a drug factory. Caban also faces charges of risk of injury to a minor.

The Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Eastern District assisted New London police in the investigation.
