New Haven city officials announced today that a section of Church Street will be closed for 36 hours this weekend to allow for construction.
The two-block portion between Elm Street and Grove Street will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, March 27 until 9 a.m. Sunday, March 29.
All vehicles will be detoured onto State Street for the duration of the closure.
City officials say the closure is necessary to allow for the installation of new cooling equipment atop the building at 265 Church Street.
