Suspect in Shelton Gas Station Robbery Arrested

Police have arrested a suspect in an investigation into a robbery at the Buck Stop Citgo Gas Station, at 429 Shelton Ave. in Shelton.

Shelton police responded to a burglar alarm at 3 a.m. on Oct. 13 and found that the rear door had been forced open.

Police checked the business and the area, but did not locate any suspects.

The surveillance video they obtained showed a small compact vehicle parking by the rear door of the store, then two men enter the store, take cartons of cigarettes and then leave in the vehicle, police said.

Police have arrested Joseph Palmer, 42, of Derby. He has been charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the third degree and criminal mischief in the second degree.

He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Police said there might be another arrest in this case.
