The City of Hartford is demanding to take over the investigation after a tuberculosis scare at Charter Oak Health Center.

City officials said they told a doctor in December that a patient tested positive for tuberculosis, but workers said they didn't know about it until this week and some workers have now tested positive for TB.

Officials at Charter Oak said they weren't aware of the case and are looking into the situation.

Symptoms of the bacterial infection can include a bad cough that lasts three weeks or longer, pain in the chest; coughing up blood or sputum, weakness or fatigue, weight loss, no appetite, chills, fever and sweating at night, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
