Wolcott police are working with police in Meriden, where a similar incident happened.

Two Charged in Gas Station Robbery

A man police believe stole a cash register from a gas station in Wolcott on Wednesday morning and stabbed the clerk is in custody.

The robber went into the Mobil station at 47 Wolcott Road just before 8 a.m., told the attendant he was having a bad day, ordered him to hand over the register and stabbed the clerk in the hand, the victim’s nephew said.

The man, identified by police as Michael Chapman,  fled with the register.  Officers they found Chapman in a car with a woman in Waterbury.  The woman, Angel Paradis, was also arrested.

Paradis is being held on $100,000 bond and is due back in court on March 7. It is not known when Chaplin is due in court.

Wolcott police have reached out to police in Meriden, where a a clerk was stabbed at Sam's Convenience Store at 343 West Main St. on Tuesday.

Two customers heard someone call for help from the front of the store and found the clerk lying on the floor behind the counter and bleeding from wounds to his neck and face, according to police.

Meriden police said they are still not able to name Chapman as a suspect in the Meriden robbery. Anyone with information regarding the robbery in Meriden should contact Detective David Visconti at (203) 630-6252.
