Coast Guard Honors Fallen Crewmembers

Lt. Sean D. Krueger, AMT1 Adam C. Hoke, AMT2 Brett M. Banks and Lt. Lance D. Leone were onboard a military helicopter when it crashed off the coast of Washington state last week.

Leone was the only one to survive. On Tuesday, the Coast Guard Academy in New London is honoring the memories of the crew members who were killed.

Krueger, the 33-year-old Aircraft Commander, was from Seymour and graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2000 and served in the Coast Guard for more than 10 years.

He was a decorated member of the military, having been honored with the many medals, service awards, the Coast Guard Presidential Unit Citation, and several others.

He leaves his wife and three children.

Hoke, 40, of Great Falls, Montana, was single with one child. He served in the Coast Guard for more than 17 years and also received many honors.

Banks, 33, Rock Spring, New York, served in the Coast Guard for more than nine years also was awarded many honors . He was married with two children.

Leone, 29, of Ventura, California, is being treated at a Seattle hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2002 and has also be awarded several honors. He is married.
