You Might Be Impacted by Epsilon Breach

Target, Chase, Marriott, Citigroup and TiVo have been affected.

Connecticut residents are among those whose e-mails might have been accessed by hackers who busted through a firewall of a Dallas-based advertising and e-mail management firm.

Credit card users and several others are among the Connecticut residents affected, according to The Greenwich Time.

About 2 percent of Epsilon's clients were affected by a security breach last week that allowed for unauthorized to e-mail distribution lists for several companies. including Target, Best Buy, Chase, Marriott, Citigroup, Robert Half International, the College Board, Walgreens, TiVo and more. 

The company's have sent out e-mail messages warning customers.

"As a result, your email address may have been accessed by an unauthorized party. Epsilon took immediate action to close the vulnerability and notified law enforcement," Target wrote in an e-mail. "While no personally identifiable information, such as names and credit card information, was involved, we felt it was important to let you know that your email may have been compromised. Target would never ask for personal or financial information through email."
