A huge convoy of trucks hit the road on Tuesday morning in what was called the Foodshare "Convoy of Caring."

More than 25 trucks from various food industries were loaded with tons of canned food to help feed the more than 100,000 people in need in the Hartford area.

The Convoy of Care lined up in Rocky Hill and made the 21-mile trip to The Foodshare distribution center in Bloomfield.

The food will be stocked at the center and then given to the hungry. It will be available today through the week at local food pantries, community centers and shelters and feed more than 120,000 people from Hartford to Tolland.
