Cops Make “Weeds”-Like Bust in Guilford

In “Weeds,” a suburban California mom, her sons and her brother-in-law run a major family drug operation out of their home.

Move the setting to Guilford, across the street from a middle school, and police said something similar was happening here.

Cynthia Seward, 52, of Guilford; her son, Anthony Seward, 20; who lives in the house; and a 16-year-old on Tuesday after cops served a search and seizure warrant at the Church Street home.

Inside, police found digital scales, packing materials, marijuana smoking pipes, rolling papers, grinders, marijuana and cash, police said.

The bust came after several months of investigating and reports of people buying marijuana out of the house.

Cynthia Seward was released on a $2500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court with Anthony Seward on Nov. 30.

The 16-year-old is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on Nov. 23.
