Tattoo Parlor Shooting Probe Focuses on Motorcycle Gangs

On Tuesday night, the owner of a Hamden tattoo parlor was shot to death outside his shop and now police are looking into whether there’s a connection to motorcycle gangs.

Joseph Ferraiolo, 64, was ambushed Tuesday night in the back parking lot of "A Touch of Color" on Dixwell Avenue, police said. He died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner's office determined.

Hamden Chief Thomas Wydra declined to say why investigators were looking at motorcycle gangs and the possibility of a retaliation killing. He also wouldn't identify any suspects.

“The motivation for this homicide is of great interest and of great importance to us,” Wydra told the New Haven Register.

Investigators are looking for a black truck they believe was connected to the killing.
