3 Injured in When Car and Dump Truck Collide in Hartford

    The road is closed at Coventry Street and Tower Avenue in Hartford after a crash involving a car and a dump truck, Hartford police said. Police said the crash is serious.

    Three people were injured when a car and a dump truck collided at Coventry Street and Tower Avenue in Hartford just after 6:30 a.m. on Monday, and police said one of the injuries is serious.

    The dump truck was traveling eastbound on Tower Avenue and the 1997 Ford Taurus was traveling northbound on Coventry Street at 6:39 a.m. when the vehicles crashed at the four-way intersection, police said.

    An elderly man was the most seriously injured. He was transported to Saint Francis Hospital, where he is in critical and guarded condition. 

    Two other people were transported to Saint Francis Hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

    The road was closed as Hartford police investigated the serious crash.but it has since reopened.

    The crash is under investigation.
