Cox Cable is planning to lay off 30 employees in Manchester.

Most of the cutbacks in Connecticut are at the Cox offices in Manchester, although operations in Enfield and Meriden are also being affected.

Nationally, the layoffs represent 2 percent of the work force.

The news comes the day after Pratt & Whitney said it would lay off about 350 salaried employees across the country. Of  those, about 280 of the Pratt & Whitney layoffs will occur at the company's Connecticut operations.
