Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Route 9 South in Middletown

Route 9 South has reopened, but the onramp is closed.

A 56-year-old Berlin man was killed in a crash on Route 9 South in Middletown this morning.

Police said Mark Lemanski, 56, from Berlin, was driving a motorcycle, hit a car and later succumbed to his injuries.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. and Lemanski’s 2003 Harley Davidson struck a 2013 Toyota Prius that was stopped for traffic at the Hartford Avenue exit, police said.
Lemanski was taken to Middlesex Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Frank Mohr, 55, of Meriden, was driving the Prius, police said. He and his passenger were not injured.

Route 9 and Harford Avenue were closed as police i investigated, but the roads have since opened.
