Crash of Egg and Juice Truck Snarls Morning Commute

The driver of a tractor-trailer that landed on its side is lucky to be alive after a morning crash in Coventry. 

Route 6 is closed in Coventry after the truck, carrying egg and juice, collided with a car and rolled on its side.

The cab was lodged between two trees, but the driver was somehow able to free himself from the mangled metal, firefighters said.

Coventry police warn drivers to avoid this area of Route 6.

A truck and car collided around 4 a.m. at South Road, near the Andover line. The truck is on its side.

Minor injuries were reported and both drivers were taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Route 6 is connector to Interstates 384 and 84.

The state Department of Transportation is setting up a detour.
