At Least 4 Displaced After Fire at Manchester Home

At least four people are displaced after a fire at a home in Manchester on Friday night.

Crews were called to a structure fire at a two-story duplex on Elro Street shortly before 10 p.m. Police said this is the same home that was the scene of a police standoff with a suspect last week.

Everyone inside of the home was able to evacuate before the fire department arrived, firefighters said.

When firefighters arrived, they said they found heavy fire extending form the first floor living room window. There was fire on the inside of the home on the first and second floor and in the attic.

Crews were able to knock down the main body of the fire relatively quickly, officials said, but the fire in the attic proved to be more stubborn.

Truck personnel were able to get to the attic space from the roof and extinguish the remaining fire.

According to fire officials, the home is currently uninhabitable and at least four people are displaced.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
