Cromwell Bank Robbery Suspect Taken into Custody in Meriden

The suspect in a Cromwell bank robbery has been taken into custody in Meriden.

Gregory Dearborn, 31, of Meriden, faces charges of first-degree robbery and fifth-degree robbery. Police allege that on Friday Dearborn handed a note to a teller at the Liberty Bank at 72 Berlin Road. The note demanded money and implied he had a gun.

Dearborn was taken into custody by Meriden police Saturday for an outstanding warrant held by that department.

Police said Dearborn was driving a stolen 1981 Ford pickup with New Hampshire plates. That truck was found abandoned in Hartford and Cromwell police have seized it in connection with their investigation.

Cromwell police said Sunday evening they expected to serve the warrant in the immediate future.
