Cromwell Woman Faces DUI Charges After Serious Crash

Two people were seriously injured and another arrested after a crash in Cromwell early Sunday morning, according to police.

Police said the accident happened just after midnight on Shunpike Road and involved a car and a motorcycle. Both the driver and a passenger of the motorcycle were ejected and suffered serious injuries. They were transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Police said the driver is listed in serious but stable condition, and the passenger was listed in critical condition. Neither of them has been identified.

The driver of the car, identified as 43-year-old Ursula Cinque of Shunpike Road in Cromwell, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. She was held on a $25,000 bond and is expected in Middletown Superior Court on Monday.

Shunpike Road was closed between Court Street and Evergreen Road for several hours for the investigation. The road reopened around 5:15 a.m.
