Cupcake Fans Will have to Wait a Little Longer

Mention Crumbs to anyone who’s bought the famously delicious cupcakes and you might see some salivating begin, so it’s no wonder that Greenwich has been eagerly awaiting the luxe bakery to open.

It was supposed to open on Monday, but that did not happen and it might be another two to three weeks before Greenwich mouths bite into the frosted treats.

A pipe burst, flooding the shop on West Putnam Road, reports the Greenwich Time.

The first Crumbs Bake Shop opened in March 2003. Mia and Jason Bauer opened it on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and the company has grown to include shops in New Jersey, California and Connecticut, where there are bakeries in New Canaan, Stamford and Westport.

If you live in the northern part of the state and don’t feel like making the trip, you can also order them online for some special guests. And we do mean guests you like, because it will cost you about $4.50 per cupcake. Of course, you can get a 12-pack Red Velvet Taste Pack for $24.
