John Sulzbach faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and risk of injury.
Police have charged a Killingworth father with sending his 18-month-old son to day care with pot in his lunch.
Workers at the Clinton Child Care Center at 160 East Main St. called Clinton police around noon Thursday after finding what appeared to be a marijuana-filled cigarette in a child's food container.
John Sulzbach, 33, of Killingworth was arrested that afternoon after being interviewed by authorities. An investigation found Sulzbach had accidentally dropped the joint into the food container the night before while making his son's lunch, according to police.
Officers searched Sulzbach's home at 9 Iron Works Road and found less than an ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Sulzman was charged with possession of a controlled substance and risk of injury/impairing the morals of a child. He was released on a written promise to appear in court on Dec. 22.
