Danbury Teen Killed in Crash

A Danbury teen was killed in a crash early Friday morning.

A 19-year-old Danbury girl was killed in a crash early Friday morning.

Police said Melyssa Carvalho, of Beaverbrook Road in Danbury, was driving a 2001 Ford Focus westbound on White Street, just after 2:30 a.m. when she crossed over Lee Hartell Drive and struck the concrete barrier. 

Danbury firefighters extricated her and she was transported to Danbury Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

Her passenger, Javier Adams, of Danbury, was transported to Danbury Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the collision, police said.

According to Danbury police, Carvalho had been driving at a high rate of speed. 

Danbury police ask witnesses to call Sgt. Rory DeRocco of the Danbury Police Traffic Division at 203-797-2157.
