A man has been arrested after police say he shot and killed a man outside of a bodega on Norwich St. in Hartford Saturday morning.
Officers say they responded to a bodega on Norwich Street shortly before 10:00 a.m. after a citizen reported a man being shot.
When police arrived, officers say they found a man on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head.
First responders arrived and transported the man to Hartford Hospital, where he later died at 10:19 a.m.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Division assumed the investigation. After reviewing video footage, they identified Tomas Figueroa, 50, as a suspect.
Figueroa was apprehended from a motel room on the Berlin Turnpike and charged with murder. Figueroa is being held on a $1 million bond.
Detectives are currently working to identify the deceased man and notify his next of kin.
