You know him and love him as the Hall of Fame coach of the UConn women's basketball team, but did you know that Geno Auriemma is also a successful businessman?

Coach Auriemma already owns and operates Geno's Fast Break at Mohegan Sun.  He's also has his own line of pasta sauce and wine.  Now, he's opening a new restaurant.

Geno's will be part of the new Storrs Center, which is under construction in Mansfield.

He said his restaurant will provide a fun, relaxed dining experience with indoor and outdoor seating for 100 people.

Auriemma will operate Geno's along with his business partners.

It will be one of the centerpieces of the first phase of Storrs Center, a mixed-use, pedestrian-oriented downtown area near the UConn campus.

The $200 million project is expected to open in a few months, and Geno's is expected to be among the first businesses to open.

"Storrs Center feels like home," Auriemma said in a news release. "We hope Geno’s will be loved by the Mansfield community and campus population as well.”
