Donations Being Collected for New Haven Fire Victims

The City of New Haven and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church are collecting donations to help the 14 people who were displaced by  a 3-alarm fire at 111 Hazel St. in New Haven on Tuesday morning.

The electrical fire quickly spread to the adjoining home at 115 Hazel Street, officials said.

Reverend Tracy Johnson Russell of St. Andrew’s is accepting canned food; frozen turkeys; clean clothing, particularly coats, scarves, gloves and hats; packaged diapers; and other infant and toddler necessities.

Newhallville Livable City Initiative Neighborhood Specialist Carmen Mendez will also be accepting food and clothing donations in her office on the 3rd floor of City Hall at 165 Church Street. She can be reached at 203-946-7733.
