A driver was hospitalized and is facing pending charges after the person's car crashed into a telephone pole in Willimantic late Sunday night.
Officers responded to the 100 block of South Street at 11:50 p.m. to investigate a one-car accident.
The driver, who was the only one in the car, was taken to Windham Hospital's emergency room to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and observed.
Police continue to investigate the crash and ask anyone who witnessed it to call Officer Matthew Rousseau or Cpl. Stanley Parizo Jr. at 860-465-3135. All information will remain confidential.
Eversource also responded to repair the damaged utility pole.
The road was shut down in both directions until 1:30 a.m. and has since reopened.
Charges are pending for the driver.
