State Police are looking for a driver that fled the scene of a fatal tractor trailer crash in Stratford Saturday morning.

The accident happened on Interstate 95 around 2 a.m. just north of exit 32 on the Moses Wheeler Bridge.

Police say the tractor trailer was traveling in the right lane when a speeding 1997 Lincoln Mark VII cut in front of it causing the driver to swerve.  The trailer jack knifed and rolled over all three lanes of the bridge on the southbound side, and ended up in the center median blocking the left lane northbound.

The driver of the tractor trailer, David Rapoport, 53, of Warwick, R.I. was pronounced dead at the scene.   The driver of the Lincoln, bearing CT Registration 826 XMV,  fled the scene on foot.

All southbound lanes of I-95 between exits 34 and 32, and the left lane northbound were closed for cleanup and accident investigation until 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to call State Police Troop G Bridgeport at 203-696-2500.
