Drunken Driver Hit Cops: Police



    A Windsor Locks police officer was struck early Friday morning by a driver police said was drunk.

    Around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, Officer Paul Sherokow was stopped at a traffic light at Main and Spring streets and Stuart McKechnie, of East Windsor, hit the back of the cruiser, police said.

    Sherokow was taken to Hartford Hospital where he was treated. He has since been released, police said.

    McKechnie was charged with driving while under influence, carrying a dangerous weapon and weapons in a motor vehicle.

    His bail was set at $10,000 and he is due to appear in Superior Court in Enfield on Friday.
