Tree Falls on Wires in Granby During Storm

A tree brought down wires on Route 189/North Granby Road in Granby on Wednesday evening, closing the roadway and cutting power to more than 700 residences in the area, according to police and CL&P.

Route 189 was closed for about an hour near Mechanicsville Road while crews worked to clear the road. The area reopened around 8:30 p.m.

The CL&P outage map initially showed about 700 customers without power in Granby. CL&P tweeted that a tree fell on an overhead line and caused the outage.

According to the outage map, power had been restored by 8:45.
