An East Haddam woman escaped from an accused kidnapper by climbing through a fast food drive-through window, according to Connecticut State Police.

Police said the woman reported that an acquaintance, Davendra Persaud, 30, of Lynbrook, New York, kidnapped her from her home on Friday, the Norwich Bulletin reports.

Police said Persaud drove to a nearby Burger King.

While waiting in the drive-through line, the woman got out of his vehicle, ran to another vehicle and climbed into the drive-through window to escape.

Persaud chased the other vehicle and brandished a handgun at two occupants, police said.

He has been charged with kidnapping, home invasion, burglary and other charges and is held on a $500,000 bond.

It was not known on Tuesday morning if he's represented by a lawyer.
