Norwich Police Identify Murder Victim

The dead woman was not the intended target, police said.

Norwich Police Thursday identified the woman shot to death at the Mai Thai Restaurant and Bar over the weekend.

Donna Richardson, 45, of New London, was shot and killed around 1:50 a.m. Saturday.

Arriving officers found Richardson and another woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both women were transported to Backus Hospital where Richardson was pronounced dead. The other victim was treated and released.

According to police, a man began shooting after some type of argument as the bar was closing. Richardson was not the gunman's intended target, police said.
