Fire Damages Inn at Mystic Hotel Room

Flames broke out in a dryer vent at the Inn at Mystic on Monday afternoon, damaging a hotel room, according to the fire department.

Fire officials said they were called to the scene on Williams Avenue around 12:30 p.m. and put the fire out within 15 minutes of arriving at the hotel. One room sustained fire damage, while others were damaged by smoke and water.

The guestroom was vacant when fire broke out, according to inn owner Tim Brown. The fire department said all affected rooms were empty and no one was hurt. The inn remained open through the fire.

The Harbour House Restaurant and the mansion were not impacted.

The cause of the fire is not known.
