Fire Crews Respond to East Haddam House Fire

NBC Connecticut

Firefighters from four towns helped battle flames at a home in East Haddam Sunday night.

The fire broke out at 15 Long Pasture Lane at around 8:00 p.m.

Fire officials said the family made it out safely and firefighters were able to rescue their cat.

"There's heavy damage to the attic and the second floor. I'm not sure if its salvageable at this time, but the house is still standing in relatively sound condition," said Fire Chief Shawn Daigle.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
