Fire Damages Condo Complex in Middletown

Residents of six units at the Carriage Crossing Condo complex were forced out by fire Monday afternoon

Emergency crews responded to a fire at a condo complex in Middletown on Monday evening.

Fire broke out at the Carriage Crossing Condos at 145 Carriage Crossing around 5 p.m.

Six units were damaged on the first and second floors, according to fire officials.

The fire marshal was at the scene on Monday night searching for a cause, but has been unable to locate where the fire started or what caused it.

It is still not clear if the building is a complete loss, fire officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, but no one was able to spend the night in any of the damaged condos.

The American Red Cross was at the scene to assist residents displaced by the fire.

Middlefield firefighters assisted the Middletown Fire Department in controlling the blaze.
