An electrical fire broke out at a vacant unit on South Road/Route 83 in Somers late Tuesday afternoon, causing heavy damage to the rafters and interior, according to the fire marshal.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 11 South Road around 4 p.m. Tuesday. Flames spread to the neighboring unit, which houses a law office. Fire officials said the office space is not useable.
Crews called in mutual aid from the Hazardville and Shakers Pine fire companies. Firefighters managed to knock down the flames by about 5 p.m.
No injuries have been reported.
