Eight Displaced by Norwich House Fire

Eight people have been displaced by a house fire that broke out in Norwich on Sunday morning, according to the Red Cross.

Fire officials responded to the home on Lincoln Avenue around 8:15 a.m. Sunday. The house is located near the intersection with Washington Street.

According to the fire chief, the fire started in the upper levels of the multi-family home.

Firefighters were on the scene for several hours. The fire got into the gas lines, which slowed down the fire department's effort to extinguish the flames, according to the fire department.

The Red Cross is helping four families, including six adults and two children, who were forced out of their homes by the blaze.
