Students Allowed Into Naugatuck High After Crews Investigate gas Odor

Firefighters and police responded to Naugatuck High School this morning to investigate the odor of gas coming from the culinary department, and students are being allowed into the building after it was deemed safe.

Firefighters and police were called to the school at 7:18 a.m. and the school was cleared as a precaution while firefighters checked the school, according to police.

Eversource also responded and firefighters as well as utility companies workers used meters to test the building and determined it was safe.

Students and staff have been allowed back into the building.
