Firefighter Transported to Hospital While Battling Shelton Fire

One firefighter was transported to the hospital as several departments responded to a fire on Sharon Drive in Shelton, according to the Shelton fire chief.

Responders were first called to the scene at 42 Sharon Drive at 3:05 p.m. on Monday. 

The fire was knocked down around 3:30 p.m.

One firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Firefighters from Echo Hose Hook and Ladder Company #1, Pine Rock Park Fire Company #4 and White Hills Fire Company #5 all responded. 

The fire appears to have started in the attic and spread. The owner was home at the time of the fire but was able to get out safely, Chief Jones said. 

The fire marshal and building inspector were at the scene.
