Flood advisories have been posted for Middlesex. New Haven and New London Counties until 10:30 a.m.

Scattered torrential downpours are expected to continue to lift north across the area with rain falling at a rate of around one inch in a half hour during the heaviest activity.

Excessive runoff is expected to cause flooding of urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low-lying spots.
