Former Gunnery Dean Heads to Prison

Robert Reinhardt plead guilty to sexually assaulting students.

The former Dean of Students at the Gunnery School was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison Friday for sexually assaulting students at the prestigious school.

Robert Reinhardt, 46, appeared at Litchfield Superior Court more than two months after pleading guilty to second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor charges.

Reinhardt, resigned from his position at the boarding school in Washington in June 2009 following accusations from four students.

"I'm sorry for all the events that occurred," Reinhardt said at the sentencing, the Hartford Courant reported.

When Reinhardt is released from prison, he will serve 30 years probation and will have to register as a sex offender.
