Four Men Attack Victim on West Haven Street: Cops

West Haven Police have arrested four people accused of beating someone who was walking on the sidewalk.

Police said Deshawn Moncrease, 20, Jeffrey Ampofo, 19, Andrew Little, 18, of West Haven, and Kyle Alston, 21, of New Haven, jumped out of their vehicle on Glade Street just before noon on Thursday, approached a male victim, beat him and said "Why are you on this street? This is my block,” according to a Facebook post from West Haven police on Friday morning.

The victim was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital. No information was immediately available on the victim's age.

Police said Moncrease and Little had BB guns that they had just purchased at a local store and were charged with weapons in a vehicle.

Ampofo was charged with possession of marijuana and intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school.

All four were charged with breach of peace in the second and assault in the third degree and held on $10,000 bond.
