4 People Hospitalized After CTtransit Bus, Truck Crash in Cromwell

Four people were hospitalized after a crash involving a CTtransit bus and a small dump truck on Main Street in Cromwell late Friday morning.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Fairview Heights. Witnesses told NBC Connecticut that a small dump truck tried to get around the bus to make a right turn into a small retail plaza.

As the driver tried to get around the bus, which was stopped to let passengers on and off, started moving again to continue on its route and hit the truck, witnesses said.

There is a double yellow line in the area.

Four people were transported to a nearby hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

The damage to the truck was on its passenger side with a compressed passenger side door.

The front driver's side windshield of the bus was damaged.
