Three Connecticut beaches were closed to swimmers earlier this week because of heightened bacteria levels in the water, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, but all state beaches will be open this weekend.
Swimming was prohibited at Sherwood Island in Westport, Silver Sands in Milford and Kettletown in Southbury, but new tests were done and they are safe for swimming.
